MCIWORLDCOM -
1993-2001: Manager 400 International Parkway Richardson, TX. 75081
Managed a highly technical group of support engineers resolving telecommunications equipment problems for end customers. This top-level, high-tech support department was responsible for resolving design and operational problems with state-of-the-art electronic telecommunications equipment, from more than 60 different vendors. During this period, this group saved numerous business customers from leaving MCIWorldCom, thus retaining millions of dollars of annual revenue. Also responsible for support of the FAA communications network, averaging 99.999% availability. During the last two years was also responsible for all Senior Manager level functions with telecommunications equipment for customer applications, directly advising/counseling multi-million dollar projects teams and Engineering.
1991-1993: Manager 2400 N. Glenville Dr. Richardson, TX. 75082
Managed the Network Management Center Engineering group, supporting all hardware and software engineering needs of the nation-wide network monitoring/surveillance centers. Obtained and managed an average of $2+ million capital dollars each year. Developed the first, automated Fiber Cable Locate program in the telecommunications industry, helping to protect underground fiber optic cables from being cut, in compliance with the 800-CALL BEFORE YOU DIG national program.
1988-1991: Manager 650 International Parkway Richardson, TX. 75081
Started and managed two groups, totaling 23-26 people, in an order processing/equipment assembly organization. Established and organized the field order entry process and helped design the equipment tracking/reporting system. Was responsible for an annual capital budget of several million dollars.
1985-1988: Engineer 400 & 650 International Parkway Richardson, TX. 75081
Performed various duties with three different groups, including; the national microwave radio installation group, national network statistics gathering/reporting, and third level support which initially created the Field Modification Bulletin program, developed preventive maintenance forms per FCC regulations, and supervised their use and completion by field personnel.
DANIELS & ASSOCIATES CABLEVISION -
1980-1985: Manager/Technician
Worked for a relatively new cable TV company, Daniels & Associates of Denver, CO. During this period oversaw all construction activities for three different cable systems. Personally installed most of the electronics and turned up the distribution plant, as well as the satellite receiving equipment. For the last two cable TV systems also became the manager of all operations once construction was complete.
