Work Experience:

Actel Integrated Communications, Inc- August 1999 to April 2001

Started in Network Engineering department as Mgr Network Engineer. Some of the duties included Designing & Coordinated a backbone network for Actel along with all connections needed to connect all of the orginal 20 city build-out. Obtained pricing from different LD carriers to these new Markets that Actel’s Upper Management decided to build the network. Created a pricing spreadsheet so Actel could compare costs of the build-out. Provided management with drawings of LD carriers fiber Network and above pricing spreadsheet

Once Actel’s network was designed and approved moved to Project Manager. Some of the duties included assisting with the Project management of the Actel’s deployment of equipment in to 20 new market locations. This including the co-ordination of all the data and switch equipment needed for install and turn up. Guided and produced the necessary reports, presentation, recommendations and follow-up, company-wide, insuring both the stated and implied goals, objectives and missions are completed in a timely manner. Consistently leading the refocusing of efforts and priorities to insure maximum gain from limited resources. Interfaced with internal and external organizations for the purposes of gathering, assimilating and dispensing information. Developed related capital and operating budgets and implementation schedules. Provided upper management with a weekly progress report or as requested.

After Actel’s network was in place moved to Capacity Manager. Some of the duties included developing spreadsheets, policies and procedures to monitor all phases of Capacity at Actel. This included the equipment useage in all of the city locations and co-locations. Some of the equipment to be monitored: 5ESS and DRM Switches, Data equipment, DSX frames, bandwidth used in ATM connections and cross connection equipment. Plan on monitoring all of the trunking and access capacity between the Actel Switch locations to both the local ILEC and LD carriers. Orginated and tracking all request for additional trunking and new equipment. Ensured all of the company software was updated in a timely manner to include the following  reports: City Capacity, Access DS1 and Actel’s purchase order tracking system. Work with many other departments to ensure that all equipment is properly insured, tracked with location by serial number and maintenance agreements are in place. Linked spreadsheets to ensure real time information for upper management. Also assisted the Circuit Design Engineering department in Circuit Design for all of Actel’s 8 locations and co-locations. From assigning switch ports to ILEC ordered facilities.

Senior Technician, Espire, Feburary 97 – August 99 Provided Espire Tampa Sales organization with a single POC on all technicial issues. Coordinated and Managed the installation of new Espire customer’s. To inlcude: ordering and configuring CPE equipment. Assisted in the testing of circuits from the local ILEC. Established a Plant Test date with Installers and Node Techs to test prior to cut date. Ensured that all the testing was completed prior to customer’s turn-up date. Completed all the Circuit Design paper work for all circuits that were provisioned in facility. Ensured local spreadsheet for customer turn-up were completed in a timely manner. Dispatched install technicians to customer prem for installation of equipment. Received trouble calls and dispatched Maintenance techs. Provided my management with weekly reports. Status of all the completed and upcoming installs. Updated personal usage reports for cost purposes. Designed, installed, turn;up & repair Multi-node and point to point Sonet fiber rings using the following equipment: Fujitsu OC-48, OC-12, OC-192 & Factr (GR-303). Positron: OC-03. Installed, turn-up & repaired the following equipment: CAC: Widebank, Channel banks 1 & 2. Alcatel: DSC-3/1 & 1/0. Connections into Lucent 5ESS Switch.

Highcap Installer II, ACGS, December 96 – Feburary Install, wire and test new DS1 turn-ups for GTE area in Tampa, Florida. Cordinated multiple Central Office installs, wiring and testing. Perform after hours and weekend hot-cuts with various CLEC & LD companies. Trained other Installers on the policy and procedures used by GTE. Optioned the following equipment to Install circuits: Lucent: DDM-2000, NEC M1/3, Collins M1/3. Used the following tools for installation: Firebird 6000, TBERD 224, TBERD 310. Connections in to Lucent 5ESS Switch.

Maintenance & Install Technician II, MCI, June 93 to December 96

Investigate and clear trouble tickets. Status and Escalation duties included assigning ticketes to new hires for training purposes. Track new hires to make sure they are meeting the MTTR. Involve management as needed. Continuously review tickets to make sure tickets are being worked properly. Use the following tools for trouble shooting: TBERD 209A, IDTS (Centest) for Frac T-1, 64K, 56K, 96K testing. Option/Replace and Install circuits: Fujitsu; 1.8M LTE, 405M LTE & 810M OPT LTE. Collins; LTS 21130 LTS OPT LTE. Alcatel; 1633 3/3 DXC, 3003 M1/3. ERICSSON M1/3. DSC DXC 1/0. Installed and turned up switch provided services in the following switches DEX 600E and DMS-250.

Field Engineer N8, MCI, Feburary 89 – June 93 Investigate and clear trouble tickets. Test and accept DS3’s, T1’s and DS0’s. Work closely with LEC/IXC. Escalate tickets internally and externally as needed.
